Henry Documents a Year at Alfa.

If you don't know who Henry is, click here.

This past year, Lance served as State Chairman of the Young Farmer's Committee. This granted him a seat on the Alfa Board of Directors. Being the roving reporter that Henry is, he just had to document it.

Profits were up?

Vehicle claims caused by distracted driving were at an all time high.

But homeowner claims were down.

New merchandise was approved.

Some was not.

Important meetings were held.

Awards were given.

Many trips were taken.

And state of the art technology was introduced.

And it was all covered by a mostly hardworking communications department.

Lance has enjoyed his time serving Alfa and the Alabama Farmers Federation, but Henry is glad not to have to travel so far for a story now. He's more of a small town reporter.

Henry Reports on Potential Rain

If you don't know who Henry is, click here.

Henry is the weekend weather monkey for our local news. Here's his latest report.

Henry's Morning Update:

Good morning viewers! I'm Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey out here bright and early, atop the highest point in the Miller's backyard, giving you a first look at today's weather. We are eagerly anticipating the arrival of a cold front which could bring us some much needed showers.
As you can see, we will be monitoring the skies closely to let you know when and if that rain will get here.
Right now, there are only a few whispy cirrus clouds, but more clouds should build up during the afternoon and evening hours
We will be bringing you updates throughout the day. Will it ever rain? Will the temperatures cool down? Will I ever wear pants? Stay tuned for "As the Clouds Form." I'm Henry, reporting live from the observation tower at MNKY 1News.

Afternoon Update:
Sorry to interrupt "General Jungle," but Henry here with a mid afternoon weather update. As you can see, not a drop of rain has fallen yet. Snead is still dry as a bone. I'm waiting on cacti to start popping up. I saw a camel walk by with steam coming out of his radiator. Fish are actually jumping in toilets
There is hope though. Showers and storms are just to the west of us, moving east. Keep those rain jackets handy folks. This has been Chief Bananaologist, Henry the Sock Monkey MNKY1, reporting.

Early Evening Update:
Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey reporting live from the Snead desert. It's beginning to cloud up as the potential rain approaches. In order to insure that it rains, we have enlisted the help of a local Indian tribe to do a rain dance. Any words before you begin?
 How.
 Shouldn't you know how?
 How.
I don't know, but we're live so you better figure out something.
Ok, there they go, doing their rain dance. Let's hope this works.
Oh my gosh! It worked! It's pouring! Where's my umbrella and boots?! It's a miracle!
Oh. Nevermind. Back to you at the MNKY1 studio.

Late Evening Update:
Well folks, we got our hopes up once again in this part of the country, only to have them crushed when the rain dissipated on the radar. The Indians are fired and I'm putting this umbrella on Craigslist. The only moisture we saw around here was from the tears of sad people. This is Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey signing off.

Henry shows Flat Stanley around the Farm

If you don't know who Henry is, click here.

Hi. I'm Henry the Sock Monkey. Welcome to the farm!
So, last week, Henry had a visitor. Flat Stanley flew all the way to Snead, Alabama from Kansas!
What's the first thing everyone wants to do when they go to a farm? Ride in a tractor of course! Henry says safety first! and buckled in Flat Stanley. He even gave him a book to sit on.

Henry should have kept the book for himself because he can't quite reach the steering wheel.

Since it is March and there isn't much growing on the farm, Henry decided to show Flat Stanley some of our equipment.

He explained that this machine was a cotton picker, used to harvest cotton in the Fall. Peanuts, soybeans, and corn are also grown on the farm.

Henry also took Flat Stanley to see our chicken houses. There are 4 chicken houses. Each house has around 33,000 chickens!

Flat Stanley was scared when he went inside the chicken houses and asked Henry to hold him. Maybe Flat Stanley shouldn't have asked Henry to pass the honey mustard.

After leaving the chicken houses, Henry showed Flat Stanley a giant pile of sawdust. And Flat Stanley just had to dive in. After rescuing Flat Stanley, Henry explained that the sawdust is what the chickens walk on inside the chicken houses.

Flat Stanley couldn't resist a photo opportunity and a chance to "tiptoe through the tulips!"

Henry would like to thank Flat Stanley for hanging around the farm with him today!

Uh oh. Did Henry mention it was a windy day? Come back Flat Stanley!

Henry Reports on the Blizzard of 2016

If you don't know who Henry is, click here.

When Henry is not farming, babysitting, building houses, or shooting peacocks, he moonlights as a weather monkey. Here's his reports on our latest episode of Winter weather.

Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey here. Just wanted to give an afternoon weather update. I have circled on the weather map the parts of Alabama that might see some storms later tonight, and the other circle indicates the places that might see 0-2" of snow. That "X" located in the Mid Atlantic, well, RIP y'all. I'm Henry the Sock Monkey reporting for MNKY 1 News.

Reporting live from the intersection of highways 278 and 75 in the Jungle Tracker 1...As you can see, we've had a soaking rain overnight and into this morning. That rain should be transitioning into snow later this afternoon. I would advise getting your errands run this morning, and all schools and businesses should close by early afternoon. No one should be on the roads after dark. Stay safe out there folks.. This has been Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey for MNKY 1 News.

Reporting live from Snead once again...The snow showers have finally made their way to Sand Mountain, and boy are they coming down. Temperatures should stay above freezing until dark so it's not quite time to panic yet. However, it is time to break out the milk and bread everyone has hoarded like its the apocalypse. I'm Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey reporting for nom, nom, nom, slurp.....

Chief Bananaologist Henry the Sock Monkey checking in one last time tonight from Snead. The roads have turned a bit icy and seem to have caused a fender bender between what appears to be a camper, small pickup, and a garbage truck. Two of the drivers seem to be having some words...Oh my! Is that guy missing an arm? Thankfully emergency services are now on the scene, and the icy patch has been taken care. As long as everyone stays off the roads, the rest of the night should be quiet. For MNKY 1 News, goodnight and stay safe.
