Mystery Plant

Here is the row of cucumbers in my garden.
They aren't quite big enough to produce cucumbers yet.
The only "cucumber" plant producing is this one.
Now, it might just be me, but I don't ever remember seeing a cucumber that looks quite like that.
They remind me of those little pumpkins people grow to decorate with during the fall.
Can anybody identify the UFO (unidentified food object) in my garden?

  1. I haven't a clue, but like you I'm sure they aren't cukes!

  2. I bought something like this at a Farmers Market last year. They were called lemon cucumbers. They only looked like a lemon but still tasted like cucumbers. I put them in a salad for a different twist of color and everyone loved them.

  3. Yep, that's what they are. We grew some a couple years ago just for something different. When we took them to the farmer's market, we got quite a reaction and good sales because nobody knew what they were. You probably got a plant or two mixed in with the regular ones. I see on the weather report you've been getting some much neded rain-HOORAY!! BTW: how's Baby Miller? We need a photo! ((HUGS))
