Spring has certainly arrived here at Miller Farms! There are many signs that Winter may finally be over!
The trees are budding...
The birds are chirping...
The dogs are sunning themselves...
The planter is ready...
The smell of my Father in Law's burn pile...
*cough cough*
The smell of the cow pasture
*sniff sniff*
The smell of chicken house fans
*ahem*
The smell of fresh Spring air...
Ahhh....thats better.
But the one sure sign that Winter is gone...
The grass needs cutting, and the weeds have taken over.
Which only means one thing...
Time to get out Old John!
John and I have a love/hate relationship. He loves to quit working and be a pain in my tooshie, and I hate him.
See, I'm not allowed to drive the Cadillac...
It's only reserved for royalty (i.e. Lance's Dad), and those who paid for it (i.e. everybody but me). I believe theres a misconception about my abililty to drive a lawnmower (
We'll also pretend we didn't see this. Apparently the behind the shop swamp did not need mowing today.
Stephanie, this is the most hilarious post yet!! TOOOOO FUNNY! I will let you drive our Lexus Lawnmover (not quite a Caddy, but real similar), if you will come cut our grass!!

ReplyDeleteI love budding trees!!! I can not wait til spring really takes over here in Oregon! Rain, rain, go away..come back another day! LOL
ReplyDeleteSteph, it isn't Spring until the pecan trees come out.
ReplyDeleteAs for mower driving, come on over. I have one of those fancy zero-turning-radius mowers that's a dream. You can practice on my 5 acre front yard.
I guess I'm just a lazy girl...I let the two, young, attractive, early twenty-something guys my landlord hired do all the mowing. And I'm quite happy to do it. As long as they don't attack my flowers...again...
ReplyDeleteAs always, your posts are entertaining as heck, Steph!
