Well, I'm still not sure! haha. Maybe I just have to get to know it a little better. Thanks to everyone who suggested a name. I had a lot of suggestions on the link I put on Facebook too. So, since I couldn't pick a name, I put everybody's name in the hat, and the winner is....

Name that Mixer Contest!

 

 For my birthday, Lance bought me a 5 qt. Artisan KitchenAide Stand Mixer. It is AWESOME.

 

 I've seen many people who own these types of mixers have named them. I can't think of a name. It may not look like it in the picture, but it is John Deere green (of course!). I thought about John or Johnny, but it sounds like I'm naming it after one of our farm employees, which I don't want to do, lol.

Miller Farms Giveaway!

In celebration of my finally hitting 100 posts (a few posts back), I've decided to have a giveaway!  I've titled the giveaway, "Miller Farms Giveaway" because it's full of all things to do with our farm!

Lets see...we have one copy of the Farm and Ranch Living magazine that we were featured in, a pink John Deere "owner's edition" cap (cause we own lots of John Deeres!), a few of our cotton bolls, some of our peanuts that will be good for parching (I promise there will be more than 5 peanuts, haha), and since I can't leave out a gift from the chicken houses, some chicken poop (I promise it's not real poop!).

All you have to do is be a "follower" and tell me how you "support" our farm! Do you love cotton socks? Do you eat peanut butter at every meal?  Are chicken livers your favorite food?

Today is the big day! I want to thank everyone for participating in my very first giveaway! I've already thought of some more things I can give away in the future, so I will definitely be doing some more! I can see that yall are drooling with anticipation over those dill pickle chips and Grapico, so lets get on with it!

I could've used that fancy thing online that will somehow pick the winner of your blog giveaway, but with dialup, using pen, paper, and a bowl is much quicker!

My First Giveaway!

I've been wanting to do a giveaway for a while now, but I never could figure out what I wanted to give away! Y'all have given away a ton of good stuff (sock monkeys, beach bags, cookbooks, etc...), but none of them seem to fit my blog. I was about to giveaway our spare cotton picker (wonder what the shipping on that would've been? haha) when I figured out what I wanted to do! We receieved a magazine when we were at the Commodity Conference a few weeks ago, and it gave a list of Alabama companies that participate in the "Buy Alabama's Best" program. These products are made in Alabama, and they support Alabama agriculture. So, I've decided to buy some of these products and share them with the blogging world!

Chips, cookies, apple butter, syrup, homemade sourdough bread, and a couple drinks to wash it down with! I'm still looking for some other goodies I would like to include, and I may even throw in a surprise or two. You'll even get a few pieces of Alabama grown cotton! Try to contain your excitement!
